MEET THE FOUNDERS
Passion and Dedication at the Heart of EYC
At the heart of the Early Years Community (EYC) are three passionate and dedicated directors: Lisa, Sarah, and Sophie. Together, they bring over 60 years of experience across a variety of roles in the early years sector. This wealth of experience, combined with their shared commitment to nurturing young minds, inspired the creation of EYC—a place where every child is given the best possible opportunities to explore, learn, and grow.
Their journey is rooted in the belief that every child deserves access to exceptional care and education, regardless of their background. United by this vision, the team sought to give back to the communities that shaped their careers by sharing their knowledge, expertise, and love for early childhood development.
The ethos of EYC—‘A great place to explore, learn, and grow’—guides all aspects of its mission. The directors are dedicated to creating inclusive environments where children feel valued, families feel supported, and staff are empowered to deliver outstanding care and education. Their passion lies in ensuring that every child in their care has the tools, encouragement, and environment needed to thrive, setting them on a path to a bright and successful future.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Early Years Community (EYC) is a group of nurseries dedicated to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children to explore, learn, and grow. Our unique approach combines highly qualified staff, innovative learning experiences, and a focus on individual development to help each child thrive. We pride ourselves on being a “great place to explore, learn, and grow,” and we work in partnership with families to build a strong foundation for your child’s future.
We welcome children from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our nurseries operate from 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, except on public holidays. This allows us to offer flexibility for working families while ensuring a structured and enriching environment for your child.
We adhere to or exceed the recommended staff-to-child ratios set by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS):
• 1:3 for children under 2 years old
• 1:5 for children aged 2-3 years
• 1:8 for children aged 3–5 years
Our team members are qualified, experienced, and passionate about ensuring your child receives the highest standard of care.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, focusing on seven key areas of learning and development. Our activities are tailored to your child’s interests and developmental stage, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence. Every child has a key person who tracks their progress and works with parents to set individual learning goals.
Yes, we provide nutritious, freshly prepared meals and snacks each day. Our menus are designed to cater to young children’s dietary needs, and we accommodate allergies and cultural or religious dietary preferences. All staff serving food are trained in food hygiene and allergens to ensure your child’s safety and well-being.
Our admissions process begins with a visit to one of our nurseries, where you can meet the team and explore the environment. Once you decide to join, we’ll guide you through the registration process. Some nurseries may have a waiting list due to high demand, but we work hard to accommodate families as quickly as possible.
We use a secure online platform to share daily updates, including photos, activities, and meals. Regular parent meetings and progress reports keep you informed about your child’s development, and our team is always available for discussions or queries. Open communication is a priority for us to ensure a strong partnership with families.
Your child’s safety is our top priority. All our nurseries are secure, with controlled access systems, and staff undergo rigorous safeguarding training. We conduct regular risk assessments, maintain high standards of hygiene, and follow strict procedures to ensure your child’s well-being.
Yes, we offer government-funded childcare hours for eligible 9 months, 2, 3 and 4-year-olds. We also accept various payment methods, including childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare schemes. For details about funding and fees, please contact your preferred nursery directly.
We encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s early education. From attending special events and workshops to sharing ideas for activities, we value your input. We also provide resources and tips for at-home learning to ensure a seamless connection between nursery and home life.
